High Bickington's Vicar
The Rev. Mike Clark
Telephone: 01769 560870
Mike is in the 6th year of his ministry in North Devon, and his home is the Rectory in High Bickington. He is married to Helen and they have three children - two boys and a girl. Mike has special responsibility for the Two River's Team southern parishes of Atherington, Beaford, High Bickington, Roborough and St. Giles.
There has been a place of worship on this spot since Saxon times and the building you see today remains an important and cherished part of our community. We hope you enjoy your visit whether you are interested in the architecture and pew ends or seek a place to think and pray.
A note from Mike
Our Church building is a place for worship, for prayer, for learning, for peace and quiet. We enjoy a variety of service styles and try to cater for people of all ages- please take a look at our current Service times the forthcoming Church events.
We now find ourselves well into the major repairs work required for the building. The roof was completely renewed in 2011/12 (see here) and the tower is now being repaired. These projects have been well supported by the community and particularly by the Friends of St Mary’s. As part of their work the guide to St. Marys now revised for the first time in almost 30 years. Thanks to Alan Graveley for his work on updating the 3rd Edition of Major Winter’s work, which you can see here. We hope you find it helpful and that you find God’s presence in the time you spend here and in our Church.
